KIRA FM
KIRA’s mission is to actively support, educate, and inspire listeners through free-form broadcasting, with programming that reflects the nuances of Omaha and its surrounding communities.
KIRA is a developing noncommercial organization working to launch something the Omaha community doesn’t currently have: a truly local, independent, community-powered radio station. Our goal is to build a broadcast service that elevates local voices on the air — one that amplifies local culture, local journalism, local music, and the real conversations happening in Omaha.
This station will:
Broadcast local news, music, arts and public affairs programming free of charge
Showcase regional musicians, creators, DJs and personalities
Provide broadcast training and airtime for community members
Partner with schools, nonprofits, businesses and civic organizations
Serve as a platform for diverse voices
Donations can be submitted to our fiscal sponsor, Amplify Arts
